Pastor

Bishop Rob was born in Oakland, California, but soon moved with his grandmother to Saint Petersburg, Florida. Before starting kindergarten, the two moved to Indiana, where he had his first life-giving encounters with Jesus Christ. Baptized at Easter in 1986, he was active in Church as a reader and server. During his middle school years, he experienced a period of separation from God. Ultimately, God called him back and his faith began to deepen and mature.
From an early age, Father Rob felt a calling to the priesthood, but also felt an equally strong call to marriage and family life. Ultimately, he chose to study for ministry, and he was ordained to the priesthood in 1997. A decade later, he married Kristen and they started a family. Today, the couple serves the Lord together, along with their three children.
Bishop Rob has spent much of his priestly ministry serving in health care chaplaincy. Today, he serves as the Manager of the Eskenazi Health Center for Spiritual Care & Education, overseeing chaplaincy activities throughout the Eskenazi Health system. He is a board certified chaplain with The Association of Certified Christian Chaplains, and is a Board Certified Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor with The Institute for Clinical Pastoral Training. In addition, he is a member of the faculty of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, D.C., which engages in physical, mental, and spiritual supportive care of those impacted by trauma, as well as those who are professional caregivers in various environments.
Bishop Rob was ordained to the episcopacy in 2022, and became the diocesan bishop of the American Catholic Communities in April of 2003.
A student of Church History and Liturgy, Father Rob spends much time reading and teaching on those topics. In his spare time he enjoys science fiction and spaceflight. He is an avid hiker, backpacker, and nature photographer, and may occasionally admit to a love/hate relationship with plastic model kits.
